Tom Elliott heads the Emerging Markets Communications Strategies (EMCS) service, which provides Strategy Analytics clients with information on communications services, device trends, consumer requirements, regulatory changes and other key elements of high growth emerging markets.Prior to this, Mr. Elliott served as Vice President, North American Consulting, directing proprietary consulting projects in North America across a variety of communications, computing and electronics areas. He has conducted major studies to assess market potential, examine competitive positioning, evaluate product feature/functionality, and address business entry strategies in a number of areas. Mr. Elliott has expertise in wireless voice and data, broadband access, satellite and terrestrial communications, vehicle tracking, fleet management and other telematics services, handsets and other terminal devices, multimedia, and software. Mr. Elliott joined the consulting group at BIS Strategic Decisions, Strategy Analytics' predecessor company, in 1989. Prior to this he was involved in information industry consulting, both as an independent consultant and as Director of Research at International Data Corporation. Before entering the information industry, he held a succession of positions at Gulf Oil Corporation, including Manager of Corporate Strategy Development. Mr. Elliott holds an SM in Management from the Sloan School, MIT, and an AB from Harvard College. He has also done graduate work at the University of Michigan.
